NOTICE TO VETERANS WHO SERVED AT MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE OR MARINE CORPS AIR STATION NEW RIVER BETWEEN 1953 AND 1987:
VETERANS WHO SERVED AT CAMP LEJEUNE OR NEW RIVER IN NORTH CAROLINA BETWEEN 1953 AND 1987 AND WERE EXPOSED TO CONTAMINATED WATER ARE ENTITLED TO VA BENEFITS.
VA has finally established presumptive service connection for eight diseases associated with contaminated water at Camp Lejeune and New River between 1953 and 1987, including:
Kidney Cancer, Liver Cancer,Aplastic Anemia or other Myelodysplastic Syndromes,Adult Leukemia (adult onset leukemia),Multiple Myeloma,Parkinson's Disease,Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma,Bladder Cancer.
If you have one of these diseases and you served at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune or Marine Corps Air Station New River between 1953 and 1987, then VA is required to extend presumptive service connection to you. This could mean that you are entitled to substantial VA benefits.
